Break-in guidance

Follow a careful break-in to help prevent overheating and gear damage:

• Avoid heavy acceleration during break-in and keep the vehicle under 60 mph for the first 100 miles.
• Drive in 15–20 mile intervals, then stop and let the differential cool before continuing.
• Wait until at least 500 miles before towing. Keep the first tow under 15 miles, then let the differential cool.
• Change the gear oil after the 500-mile break-in to remove wear particles and the gear-set coating.

Gear oil

Recommended oil: non-synthetic 80W-90 or 85W-140, GL-5 grade or higher.
